Aim of a Food Diary
The aim of a food diary is to track the foods that you are eating and to highlight any existing eating habits that could be proving detrimental to your health and well-being.
How does a Food Diary work?
By recording what you eat and drink over a period of time and how you feel or what symptoms you experience after eating and drinking, we can assess any areas which could be causing you to feel unwell. We can then provide tailored advice on improvements to your eating habits, that could help to alleviate some or all of your unpleasant symptoms and help you to feel well again.
Benefits of a Food Diary
Without recording what we eat and drink every day, many of us are unaware of our calorie intake, or how many vitamins and minerals we may be consuming, or even whether we are eating too little or too much. By recording what we eat, it quickly highlights some interesting facts about the types of food and drinks that we consume and whether they are likely to be causing any unwelcome symptoms.
By having a more balanced and healthy diet, the benefits can be dramatic:
But perhaps most immediately (and probably the reason you are on this website) it can alleviate many of the symptoms associated with IBS and poor bowel function.
